Audio Monuments

Preserve what’s most important with a timeless audio documentary.

Imagine…

All your closest friends and family are gathered together around a campfire. It’s your mom’s birthday, and everyone is taking turns telling their favorite stories of her. Some you’ve heard before, some are new to you. Everyone’s smiling and laughing, delighted by the beauty of her life. You look across the campfire at your mom and see tears of gratitude glistening in her eyes. It’s so perfect, you never want it to end.

Now imagine…

The whole thing was preserved in a timeless audio keepsake that can be revisited whenever you want, or shared with those not present. Decades from now you can hit play, close your eyes, and be transported back to that special day. All those moments, all those stories, all those voices, preserved for generations in perfect fidelity.

In the end, all we have is our memories…

Keep yours forever in the voices of the people you know and love.

Time passes, memories fade, and we lose the ones we love. With an Audio Monument, you'll have a permanent keepsake to share with future generations.

How does it work?

First, we’ll determine what you want your Audio Monument to be about. Is it a birthday gift? Is it to commemorate your wedding? Is it a memorial for a loved one who’s passed?

Then, through a process of personal interviews, archival media collection, and field recordings, our team of seasoned audio producers collect the elements of your Monument - the stories, the characters, the memories. If it’s an event we’re honoring, we’ll be there in person to record the beautiful moments of the day.

Once we have all our recordings, we enter our Post-Production Phase. Our story editors will shape the narrative flow, composers will make the emotions sing, and our sound designers will add texture and dimension. When we’re finished, you’ll have a vivid audio artifact, typically ranging from 30 to 60 minutes, full of characters and heart.

What does an Audio Monument sound like?

We make Monuments of all shapes and sizes, and they're all as unique as the subjects they honor. Check out a few trailers...

In Carol's Monument, we pay homage to a "beautiful, fun, funny, effervescent woman". We interviewed dozens of her friends and family for her birthday to find out what Carol means to them.

For almost a century, the Gregory Family and its many branches have reunited every 4th of July in the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains. They celebrate their family, they celebrate our country, and in this Audio Monument, we celebrate their tradition.

In 2020, The Freeman family lost their father, Moses Nathaniel, or as most of them called him, Buddy. Because of Covid-19 travel restrictions, the family wasn't able to gather for a memorial. To honor Buddy's memory, they asked us to create an Audio Monument. And now, instead of a one day event, they have a keepsake that can be shared and enjoyed forever.
